Obituary for Frances Millard

Frances Millard
It is with profound grief and sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Frances Millard on Saturday, December 24th, 2016, the day after her 82nd birthday.

Frances was born near Geraldton, Ontario on December 23, 1934. The family moved to Geraldton when she was 14 years old. Her first job was working for Kimberley Clark with her sister Helen assisting the tree planters. Later, she and Helen worked for the Department of Highways as line cutters building the road from Geraldton to Nakina. She also worked for Magnus Theatre, East End, as a seamstress one summer. She truly enjoyed the excitement of last minute costume adjustments and then watching the actors perform on stage from the sides with her coworkers.

She met the love of her life Raymond Millard (from Bristol, England) and had six children before moving to Thunder Bay in 1969. Family was her first and top priority. She loved the outdoors (bush), fishing, camping, bonfires, picking berries, thunderstorms, stargazing and just being there to enjoy its beauty and quietness. She also enjoyed quilting, bingos, playing 10,000, morning coffees and reading the newspaper. Mom’s kitchen was often a lunch time hub much to her delight!

Frances will be sadly missed by her sons Gary, Tony, Rick and Clary; daughters Nancy Bouchard (Benoit) and Judy Currie (Kyle); grandchildren Rachel (Andy), David (Janus), Brittany (Nick), Sasha Parks, Sandy Bouchard, Bryan Bouchard (Kelly), Tommy Forgues-Millard (Ashley) Tasarah Forgues-Millard (Brad), Rebecca (Kamil ), Brandon Millard, and Hailey Currie; great grandchildren Steven, Mason, Jake, Kayla, Hannah, James, Jon, Madison, Anabelle, Carter, and Kash. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was predeceased by her husband Raymond Millard (2001), parents Thomas and Marianne Aggamaway, brothers John and Emmett, sisters Beatrice Nakonagos, Helen LeBlanc, and Rose Twance.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Watson and the staff and nurses at the Renal Unit, TBRHSC.

As per Frances' wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, December 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 North Court Street. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com
