Obituary for Frank MacKenzie

MacKENZIE - It is with much sorrow that the family of Frank Taylor MacKenzie announce his passing on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Marathon, Ontario. Frank was born on October 12, 1932 in Mount Stewart, P.E.I. He came to Marathon in 1952 and was employed by the local pulp mill until his retirement in 1991. Frank was an active volunteer in Marathon with the local ambulance service , The Loyal Order of the Moose, the Royal Canadian Legion, and his special passion as a volunteer firefighter retiring as Fire Chief in 1987. Frank enjoyed bowling, curling, gardening and camping. Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evola, his children Brian (Rosemarie), Linda (Nick), Elaine, Raymond (Margaret), brothers Elwood and Willard, sisters Jean and Shirley, grandchildren Dawna, Ashley, Brittany, Taylor, , Emily, Mathew, , Anna, Mackenzie, Allison and Zachary. Frank was predeceased by his parents, George and Amy, brothers Ellison and Douglas and sister Betsy. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 31, 2012, at 1PM at St. John's United Church in Marathon, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Frank will be sadly missed by his family and friends. "There's a face we shall always remember A voice we shall always recall A memory to cherish forever Of one so dear to us all"
