Obituary for Gloria "Marlene" Laferriere
Marlene Laferriere (Macdonell)
April 5th. 1941 to November 26th. 2016
Marlene died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Thunder Bay, Ontario on November 26th. 2016 with family at her side. Daughter of Beatrice and Joe Macdonell, Marlene grew up in Alexandria where Jacques Laferriere skated into her life for the next 58 years. In North Bay, Marlene and Jacques raised seven children: Nicole, Rick, Kim, Jeff, Tracie, Janice and Glenda. She loved spending time with her 17 grandchildren and has a new great grandchild. No one could leave her home without a Marlene feast and a game of cards around the family table. She was loved by all and we will miss her care-free joy of life.
A memorial service will take place in the springtime at St. Finnan’s Cathedral, Alexandria Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, the Laferriere family suggests donations to the Northern Cancer Fund, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
