Obituary for Jack Stewart

JACK STEWART APRIL 25, 1956 – APRIL 22, 2012 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jack Clifford Stewart, after a lengthy illness. Jack was born in Port Arthur where he grew up, and attended schools. He was lucky enough to meet the love of his life, Carrie, when they were both young teenagers. Together they grew up and made their own way, creating a wonderful life for themselves and their two sons. Jack worked for a short time at one of the local elevators when he was very young. He then worked for Laskins delivering and refinishing furniture. Various truck driving jobs (from local delivery; dump trucks; and transports) lead him to a 27 year career which evolved from mechanic, to parts manager, to shop foreman. He was totally dedicated to his job and always went above and beyond; assisting the boys in the shop and doing whatever needed to be done. His passions were many; annual hunting trips with his buddies, fishing and camping; motorcycling; tinkering in his garages with anything mechanical, helping many friends and family along the way. Enjoying his home and large country property was his main passion. Spending time with Carrie, family and friends was his great joy. And the special times he shared with his grandson Stacy Lee filled his heart with love and joy. Jack is survived by his loving wife Carrie; sons Jack, Chris (Trisha), grandson Stacy Lee. Sisters Dorothy(Bitsy) Henderson (Gordon); Lynn Stewart (Bob); Janet Stewart. Mother –in-law Rose; Sisters –in-law Cathy Arvelin (Allen); Brenda Legace (Seppo); Brother-in-law John Legace (Rita). Numerous nieces and nephews, including his special girls-; nieces Kim, Taylor and Brianna. Also survived by many close and wonderful friends including his “brothers” Robin and Roman and the Grimmard family, Willie Torkelli, Kenny Jennings, Leo Gilbert, Jinxy Jenson and Mikey Cheryk. Jack was predeceased by his father Clifford, mother Barbara, step-father Willy ,brothers Jamie, Stacey, father-in-law John, Sister-in-law Debbie and brother-in-law Jay, Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date. A celebration of Jack’s life, will take place on Saturday April 28th from 10 am to 1pm at the Moose Hall on Fort William Rd. An open mic will be available throughout the luncheon for anyone who would like to share stories. Arrangements entrusted to the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street.
