Obituary for John Collins "Jack" Mathewson

MATHEWSON- Mr. John "Jack" Collins Mathewson age 68 years, a resident of Thunder Bay passed away at the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Jack worked for many years at the Port Arthur Shipyards, where his great work ethic led him to the position of shipyard manager. He lived his life one day at a time, which led to his successful and happy life. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bernadette, daughter Casie Ann, brother Bill (Veronica), niece Shelly-Ann, nephew James, sisters-in-law Cheryl Taddeo (Mathewson) and Anne Marie (Patrick) Bouchard, brothers-in-law Gregory Morrisseau "Chin" and Irvin Morrisseau, close friends Karen Honan and auntie Lillian Wawea. Jack was predeceased by his daughter Wendy Lee Adeleine in 1994.



Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Kitchitwa Kateri Church (451 Syndicate Ave., North), with Rev. Jim Grant officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 3rd from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street, with a Vigil Prayer Service beginning at 5:00 pm. A private entombment of ashes will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date.

The family wish to thank the nurses and doctors of the I.C.U. at the T.B.R.H.S.C for the wonderful care given to Jack during his time there.
