Obituary for Laura Lydia Kauzlarich


KAUZLARICH- Mrs. Laura Lydia Kauzlarich age 88 years, a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay passed away at the T.B.R.H.S.C. following a brief illness. Laura was born and raised in Fort William. Her family lived in the East End and later moved to Dease Street where she lived until her marriage to William Kauzlarich. Before her marriage Laura modelled for many local clothing stores. She and her husband opened Midway Grocery and later purchased hotels in Kirkland Lake and Thunder Bay. Upon William's passing Laura retired and enjoyed her quiet life.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Robert and Carol, siblings: Helen Medwick, Tony (Stella) Rapino, Gracie Hay, Dolores (George) Thompson, Loretta (Harold)Comrie, and Jimmy (Roseanne) Rapino.

She was predeceased by her daughter Colleen, husband William, sisters Jacqueline and Mary, parents Giustino and Rose Rapino, step father Tom Mckie, brothers-in-law Murray Hay and Johnny Medwick.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date. Should friends desire, memorial donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street.

We would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of 2C T.B.R.H.S.C. for the compassionate and professional care Laura received during her time with you. We are eternally grateful.
