September 18, 1931 - August 18, 2014

Teskey - It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Lorraine Marie Teskey (nee Bailey) on Monday, August 18, 2014 at her home. Lorraine was born on September 18, 1931 in Fort William to her loving parents Arthur and Phyllis Bailey. Lorraine attended Heath Park School and Vocational High School. A proud Eatonian, Lorraine worked at the Eaton's store on Victoria Avenue from 1946 until her marriage in 1952 to Peter James (Jimmy) Teskey (d. 2007). Lorraine returned to Eaton's part-time in 1972 and worked until her retirement in 1984.
Home and especially family were Lorraine's main interests. She was an exceptional cook, best known for her butter tarts, fruit cakes and spaghetti (amongst many other dishes). The neighbourhood kids still recall her candy apples at Halloween. Lorraine took care of our father throughout his 36 year illness. She was always sacrificing her own needs for the well-being of her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Phyllis Bailey and her husband Peter James Teskey in 2007. She is survived and deeply missed by her daughters, Elizabeth Teskey (Thunder Bay), Joni Atkinson (Burlington) and Susan (Reuben) Pukila (Thunder Bay), grandsons-whom she deeply loved; Philip (Jane) Atkinson of Xi'an, China, Adam (Rachel) Atkinson of Fort McMurray, Alberta and Jonathon Pukila of Thunder Bay, her great grandson William Atkinson (Xi'an, China) , her pride and joy that she always looked forward to speaking with via Skype and sisters Arlene (Sid) Gelmich and Edna Bailey of Thunder Bay. Nieces and nephews also survive.
