Obituary for Louie Benincasa

Louie Benincasa
Mr. Louie Benincasa
January 13, 1954 - July 21, 2016

Mr. Louie Benincasa, age 62 years, passed away peacefully in St Joseph's Care Group on Thursday, July 21, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Louie was born in Paterno, Calabro, Italy on January 13, 1954 to Ettore and Gina Benincasa. He moved to Port Arthur in 1959 with his mother Gina to be reunited with his father who emigrated a few years previously. Louie worked for various companies throughout his career and always enjoyed working with people. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and vacationing but above all enjoyed his most important job which was being a father and a Nonno. Louie always had a smile on his face. He loved socializing, meeting new people and he had more friends in his lifetime than most.

Louie will be missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Gina Benincasa, sister Anna Axent and brother-in-law David Axent, daughter Sara Benincasa (Donnie Henderson) and granddaughter Isabella, son Andrew Benincasa, niece Amanda Axent and great-niece Tori-Lynn, niece Michelle (Chris) Tysoski and great-nephew Cayden, great-niece Cali, and niece Jessica Axent as well as by numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his father Ettore Benincasa.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Alexa Legree and Joanne Knudsen RN for their outstanding care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at St. Anthony's Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
