REMEDIOS HERNANDEZ
October 29, 1926 - August 26, 2014
Mrs. Remedios Hernandez age 87 years passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at St. Joseph Care Group.
Born in Philippines, Remie immigrated to Thunder Bay, Ontario with her husband in 1983 to become a live-in grandmother to her first grandchildren Jonathan and Jesse from Rey and Quy.
Remie loved sewing, cross-stitching, crocheting and cooking. She loved listening to her favourite music and travelling back to the Philippines. She enjoyed her Saturday outings at the mall and grocery shopping. She was also the number one supporter of her family's Friday Night bowling at Mario's.
She will be lovingly missed by her family and friends.
Predeceased by her husband Nicolas, son Rey and son by her first marriage Roberto Flores (Chenit) of the Philippines. She leaves behind her daughter Lourdes Douglas (Steven), sons Ronnel (Ruth), Rene (Sonia), Daughter-in-Law Quy, son by her first marriage, Raul Flores (Minda), grandchildren Jonathan, Jesse, Renz, Randy and her favourite grand pet ChiChi.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral beginning at 11:00 am, celebrated by Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 pm. Donations in Remedios's memory can be made to the Northern Cancer Fund at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
