Obituary

Obituary for Renee Morin Green

We are sad to announce the passing of Renée Green on July 5th, 2020 at her residence in Thunder Bay, Ontario at the age of 54.

Renée was born in Terrace, British Columbia. She spent her childhood in Revelstoke, British Columbia and teen years in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She worked and raised her children in Ottawa for 26 years and lived in Thunder Bay for the last 11 years. Renée was a proud member of Couchiching First Nation.

Renée loved arts and crafts. She would use her craftiness to create memories for her children that they may not have otherwise experienced. Renee loved writing, drawing and colouring as a way to wind down. She could make a dollar seem like one hundred dollars. Her children never felt like they were missing out on anything because Renée made them feel like they had everything in the world. Renée was passionate about education and teaching. She completed the Law Clerk Diploma program and Marketing & Economics program at Algonquin College. Her career was spent helping others, something that brought her great satisfaction. Renée enjoyed spending her free time with her partner Telford, he could always make her laugh.

Renée will be lovingly remembered by her partner of 12 years Telford “Telly” Bruyere; her mother Myrtle Bruyere; her children Marlene “MJ” Green (Robin), James “Alex” Green (Cynthia), and Nicholas Green; her grandchildren Leia Freeman, James Green, Robyn-Jacqueline Freeman and Elliot Green; her brothers and sisters Vince Perreault (Kristy), Jocelyn Johnson, Monique Patterson, Candy Morin (Jeffrey), and Guy Morin; and last but not least her nieces and nephews Raylene Johnson-Firth (Caleb), Joey Morin-Lauzon (Corrie), Jesse Morin-Lauzon (Sarah), Cameron Door-Morin (Christy), Natalie Door-Morin, Wade Johnson (Kristen), Marcie Patterson (Kyle), Benjamin Door-Morin, and Kara Wheeler.

Renée is predeceased by her father René Morin, her step-father Arnold Bruyere, her niece Megan Johnson and her dog Cleopatra Green. A ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shelter House Thunder Bay, Canadian Mental Health Association Thunder Bay Branch or Grace Place Thunder Bay.

We had a lot of good times in Ottawa and Rockland. I remember the 3 sisters laughing the exact same and I said sounded like a machine gun. My heart goes out to all of you. I will remember the good times. Deb O and Tim xo
