Obituary for Roger Joseph Lavoie


It is with sadness we the family of Roger announce his passing at age 81 March 3rd 2015 at Wilson Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit. Roger was born in Chapleau, Ontario on September 13, 1933. He loved to go to White Lake to fish, hunt and care for his many dogs over the years. Roger worked for CP Rail and James River where he retired in September 1991. Roger was predeceased by his father Edmond, mother Marie Rose, sisters Simmone and brother in law Emile Belanger, Cecile and brother in law Fred Bowes, brothers in law Ed Bolan and Paul Beauregard and sister in law Jacqueline Lavoie. Survived by sister Jeanine Beauregard, Manitouwadge, brother Wilfred and wife Theresa of Marathon, sister Madeline and husband Bolan Falconbridge, brother Andrew and wife Dorothy, Sudbury, brother Maurice and wife Pat, Marathon, sister in law Barbara, Fort Erie and many nieces and nephews. His wish was to be cremated and buried with his mother and father at Marathon Cemetery. A service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Sargent and Son Funeral Home, 21 North Court Street, Thunder Bay. We would like to thank the doctors, especially Dr. Zelek and Dr. Newberry and all nurses and staff at the hospital.
