The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Rudolph Maki can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

The Check Scale

Backin a former life I was scaling in Pardee Twp it was near the end of the day so I decided to check the "one last road". Sure enough there was a skidway of sawlogs, odd lengths in a couple of piles. No point going back the next day I scaled them up and came back to town. It so happened that that's the piles Rudy checked scaled me on. He came back and told me "you were in scale Kangas but I'll be darned if I could figure out what you did but don't ever do it again". What I did was make a diameter reduction if a particular log was not 16 feet long..... highly improper but I was in scale. We had good laughs about it later when I told him. So the tears I shed are not only of sadness and condolence but a 21-gun salute to a man I had the highest admiration and respect for.
