Obituary for Stanko Stan Suligoj

SULIGOJ- It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stanko Suligoj at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in St. Joseph's Care Group. Stan was born on November 17, 1929 in Avce, Slovenia and immigrated to Canada in 1950. It is here that he initially worked in the bush prior to working as a carpenter. He met and married Catherine Racic and together they raised five children. Stan was a dedicated family man and was happiest during time spent with them, especially his grandchildren. He also had a passion for raising birds and working in the garden. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Catherine, daughters: Angela Suligoj, Donna Martel (Julien) and Teresa Suligoj (Michael); sons Theodore (Susan) and John, grandchildren: Korey, James, Kurtis, Kristen, Adam and Matthew. He was predeceased by his parents Pietro and Angela and his sisters Maria and Christina. The family would like to express our thanks to nurse Paula at Bayshore, the nurses at St. Joe's and at the T.B.R.H.S.C. and especially his angel Helena for the wonderful care that he received. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Francis Pudicherry of Our Lady of Loretto R.C. Church presiding. The interment will take place in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be for 1 hour prior to service time. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation-Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.
