Obituary for Terrence Kwissiwa

Terrence Kwissiwa
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear brother and uncle who died peacefully surrounded by family at the TBRHSC on March 5, 2018 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Terry was born March 12, 1965 to the late Leslie & Esther Kwissiwa. He will forever be missed by his loving sister Marlene (Alvin), his two beautiful nieces Leslie & Jamie who were the light of his life, his siblings from other mothers, Collette and Crystal (Patrick), and Leon (Vivian); his Auntie Florena Brown, as well as by numerous Godchildren and cousins.
He attended Lakeview High School and is a graduate of Confederation College. He previously worked for many years with White Lake Limited Partnership, Wequedong Lodge and spent 20 plus years with Newmont Golden Giant Mine at Hemlo.
All who knew Terry, knew that he was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens, he spent many hours cheering on his Habs even if it meant watching the game on French tv. He was forever proud to have made it to the final game at the Montreal Forum on March 11, 1996 with his cousins Wendell & Conrad.
Terry shared his love of golf with anyone who wanted to spend the time. His patience to teach and “joke” as he was doing it, lead to Marlene and Leon’s love of golf. A hobby they shared together that took them to new places and enjoying the great outdoors, regardless of weather.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street. A wake will begin on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at St. John Francis Regis Church in his home community of Pic Mobert First Nation with funeral mass taking place on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Hagerty, Dr. Faghhi and all specialized practitioners and staff of 2A for the excellent care he received and the compassion shared with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Terry’s memory to the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation-Regional Cancer Care Centre. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
In his honor we encourage all attending his services to wear their Montreal Canadiens or Dallas Cowboy gear.
