Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Crooks can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: May I offer my condolences at Jamie's passing. Jamie hired me to deliver prescriptions when I was in my teens. I remember his kindness and patience. Later, as an adult, I enjoyed our occasional visits. I remember Jamie's sense of humour, our common interest in sailing, his modesty regarding his many accomplishments. Jamie was a fine gentleman who I am very grateful to have known.

Condolence: I was very sad to hear of Jamie's (Poppie's) passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie and Mabel a couple of times last summer while in Thunder Bay for a few days. During one of our visits the weather was nice so we sat outside and watched the boats coming and going into and out of the harbour. Jamie recalled many stories about Thunder Bay and how it had changed over the years; I was surprised by how much he had contributed to the community and it was obvious that he was loyal advocate of the City.

My initial impression of Jamie seemed to confirm what I had heard about him. He was impeccably dressed, full of questions and had a great sense of humor. He was, from what I could tell, a true gentleman; still (I am told) taking the time to stand up whenever a woman entered the room. I truly enjoyed my time getting to know Jamie.

God Bless.

Condolence: Ian and I send our condolences on the passing of Jamie. Happy for Jamie; hard for loved ones left behind. He lived a very full, productive, wonderful life and contributed much to the community.

On a personal note, Ian wanted to mention how he always felt Jamie believed in him, supported him, and encouraged his success. He was always very kind to Ian. That meant a lot to him.

Hopefully he'll run across Larry and Monty on the other side.
