Obituary for Mary Sisco



Mrs. Mary Sisco age 92 years a resident of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wed. Jan. 8, 2014 at the TBRHSC. Born and educated in Port Arthur, Mary was born the 3rd of 10 children, Sept 25 1921 and was like a second mother for her younger siblings. This is a role she would continue for her own family and her nieces and nephews who were always special to her. After a short working career, Mary was a full time wife, mother, sister, aunt friend and teacher who devoted her life to her family and always put their well being first in her concerns. Married to George they shared 57 wonderful years together. Mary was a great cook and gardener who was always pleased to share in her talents.
She was a long time member of St Anthony's Church and Catholic Women's League. She enjoyed family get-togethers in which she would reminisce about enjoyable times. Her warmth and caring could always be seen by the smile on her face and the ability to laugh and look for the positive in every situation. Her faith was a great part of her life which was visible until her passing.
Lovingly remembered by son Gordon, Sisters: Emma (Allan) Toivonen, Anne Ward, Julie (Eugene) Milani, Brothers: Peter (Maureen) Bruni, Bill (Flurette) Bruni, Sister-in-law Lucienne Sisco as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were a special part of her life.
Mary was predeceased by husband George, son Richard in infancy, parents Pasquale and Rosina Bruni, sister Assunta and husband Joe Sarlo, sister Theresa and husband Mike Bruni, brother Jim and wife Lucille Bruni, brother Frank and wife Delores Bruni, sister and brother in law Doris and Harry Dido, Brothers in laws Clay Ward, Joe Sisco and Len Sisco, Mother and father-in-law Caroline and Gus Sisco.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 am Sat. Jan. 11, 2014 when family and friends will gather for Mass at St. Anthony's Church, Hilldale Rd. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini followed by a reception at Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court St.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
