When I was doing the annual cleaning a few years ago I went up to see Vera to go over somethings. She was upset to say the least and actually Les you and your son were there. Someone had stolen money from Vera so I said I would come back later so you Les could deal with the problem. When I did come back to see Vera she told me the story of the lost money and she couldn't understand how someone could steal from her. I agreed with her not only to pacify her but because she was a very astute lady and I knew she would have kept check of her money. I then said this to her, "If you want I can have one of the staff come in and out while I am doing your cleaning for you." She replied, I feel perfectly safe with you here and am not worried about you stealing from me. I thanked her for that and gave her a hug. We talked about what she wanted done and then I left her. The whole point is this: I believe it is one of the most wonderful compliments one can receive and that is trust. She was a fine lady and like many others in the building more like a Mom or Grandmother to me. I do know what it feels like to loose one or two of your parents and I know people always say time, time, time! I choose to believe they are with us everyday and we grieve a little everyday until we are united with them once again. Love to the family of Vera Hanbury
