The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wayne Magill can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Alex Jackson

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Wayne Magill, who I had the pleasure to be a student of for several years at Hillcrest High school. Mr. Magill was one of the good guys to me. An awesome teacher, and always made me feel welcome and capable in gym class, whether it was participating in running, or football, or floor hockey. He never did a double-take on my disability at any time. He did not make me feel different from anyone else, and always encouraged me. Differences were just part of life to him. His students were all there to play, workout and get active together, as equals. I still remember him calling me Action Jackson and "Jacksy"-- one time particularly asking: "You in net today, Jacksy?" as I pulled the goalie mask on. "Always!" "'Atta Boy"... It's those little things that stick out. Just a super genuine person. I had some truly great memories in his classes-- and really felt comfortable pursuing my passion for sports. He always let me do that. I will always remember Mr. Magill and cherish the good times in his classes. My thoughts are with him and his family.
