The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Charles Slater can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Please accept my sincerest sympathy to the family. The Slater family grew up on the same street that my family were. There were 3 Scottish families...the Slaters, the Shannons, and the McNaughtons and 1 Norwegian family..the Hartviksens. We were on the short Margaret Street. We were all good friends growing up and going to Prospect Avenue school.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences at this sad time of the loss of your loved one. Charlie and Bill and the rest of the "Old Gang" grew up together at the Brent Park soccer field, the outdoor rink, and Prospect Avenue School.
