The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Horst Kehrer can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

A humble gentleman

I first met Fred in Camera Craft in Sault Ste Marie in 1967. I was new in town, and to photography. He was very understanding, courteous and did not talk in photographic words I would not know. He was patient with my questions and I always went to his store until he closed. He would greet me like a longlost friend, and his staff loved him. One was George who loved photography ans was very smart. I missed Goerge when he left town. I was very sorry Fred retired, but I am glad the store still carries the name Camera Craft and is doing well.

If all people were humble like Fred, this world would be peaceful. He never spoke a bad word about anyone. I shall miss that special man.

I knew Paul Walz and Gerda and she was glad I called her to let her know about Fred's passing.

God be with him and all his family
