The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Crooks can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

I was very sad to hear of Jamie's (Poppie's) passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie and Mabel a couple of times last summer while in Thunder Bay for a few days. During one of our visits the weather was nice so we sat outside and watched the boats coming and going into and out of the harbour. Jamie recalled many stories about Thunder Bay and how it had changed over the years; I was surprised by how much he had contributed to the community and it was obvious that he was loyal advocate of the City. My initial impression of Jamie seemed to confirm what I had heard about him. He was impeccably dressed, full of questions and had a great sense of humor. He was, from what I could tell, a true gentleman; still (I am told) taking the time to stand up whenever a woman entered the room. I truly enjoyed my time getting to know Jamie. God Bless.
