Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joan Thompson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Amy Wonnell (Silliman)

Ian, Scott, Jon and Suzie, My husband Jon and I were both so sorry to hear about Joan's/your mom's illness and death. Although I don't feel as though I had too many opportunities to interact with her, her cheerfulness and energy stand out in my memory. She always made me feel like she was happy to see me! Thinking back I realize that this is a quality of her life and heart that was easy to take for granted, but must have truly blessed many people. I am not surprised to read through some of the other condolences and see how many lives she brightened. I am inspired by her example and she will be well missed. I am thinking of you often these days, Love, Amy PS - I had made plans to make the trip up to Thunder Bay for the memorial service, but our kiddos ended up with hand-foot-and-mouth disease...so it's better that I did not "grace you with my presence" and my germs :)
