Obituary for Philip McGrogan

MCGROGAN- Mr. Philip McGrogan, age 58 years, passed away in St. Joseph’s Care Group on Thursday, December 5, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Philip was born in Hamilton, Ontario on December 28, 1954 to Edna and Kevin McGrogan. He grew up in Burlington, before coming to Thunder Bay almost 40 years ago. He worked in various jobs before starting McGrogan Contracting about 6 years ago. Phil had a heart of gold and was always there to help those who needed it. He loved photography and took courses at Lakehead University to improve his skills. He also had a love for dogs. He was a member of the Kakabeka Flying Club and a volunteer at the Kaminisiqua Community Centre. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Edna and sister Trish. He was predeceased by his father Kevin (1991). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Lloyd Ivany presiding. The inurnment will take place at a later date in Burlington. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the St. Joseph’s Foundation-Hospice Unit or the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society would be appreciated.
